Climate Conversations: Climate Change and British Defence with Lt General (Ret.) Richard Nugee

The CCI Project is delighted to present this Climate Conversation with Lieutenant General (Ret.) Richard Nugee. Lt Gen Nugee is the current Climate Change and Sustainability Non-Executive Director for the UK Ministry of Defence. He is the former Climate Change Policy and Sustainability Lead for the UK Ministry of Defence until his recent retirement.

Lt Gen Nugeeā€™s distinguished career included service as: Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Personnel and Training) and Defence Services Secretary; Chief of Staff to the ISAF Joint Command in Kabul, the ISAF 3* Operational HQ; Army Director General Personnel; Director of Manning (Army), and Chief of Defence People at the UK MOD. 

After receiving his Commission into the Royal Artillery in 1985, Lieutenant General Nugee served on operational tours in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Cyrus and Afghanistan. He Commanded the 40th Regiment of Royal Artillery in Iraq in 2003. Later promoted to Brigadier and Chief of Joint Fires and Influence, he was deployed with Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps to Afghanistan in 2006.
