Deep Geothermal and Defence

CCIP’s Lt Gen Richard Nugee highlights the benefits of geothermal energy, and its potential use across domestic and international military bases. Gen Richard examines the weaponisation of energy in terms of the direct supply of fossil fuels, and indirectly through the scramble for control over the rare earth minerals necessary for renewable capabilities. He also underscores the need to plan ahead in relation to energy transition as we race to Net Zero - ensuring that any wins are sustainable and secure.
